This is the rocking chair that I bought from a garage sale for my baby's nursery. It is very comfortable and big, but doesn't really match the decor in his room. So I painted the chair white and put blue fabric all over it. I then painted some wooden buttons brown and sewed those on. Lastly, I used a 1 inch grosgrain ribbon and sewed that onto the front for some more color. I love the results and how it looks in his nursery.

It looks great! Question: what were the steps you took before you painted the chair? I'm thinking of painting the crib we have but am worried about the process. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI used spray paint. I primed it and then painted it. If I were to do a crib, I would sand it real quick and then prime and paint.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice makeover! Looks so fresh and pretty now.
ReplyDeleteYou are brave. If I had seen that at a yard sale, I would of said, No way.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful. Enjoy rocking that cutie pie.
Blessings,
Jilly

ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Talented Tuesday!
SUPER cute! I was actually thinking about recovering our glider, as it's looking pretty sorry after two years with our daughter. We still rock as part of her bedtime routine, and I have to say it's just nasty looking these days! Thanks for the motivation, as baby #2 will be here in April and I need to get MOVING! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That looks great!
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing with an old rocker too and I love that it matches better than anything I could have bought in the store! And way cheaper! Good work! I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover!
ReplyDeleteYou need to do step by step! I need to do mine, but I don't know how to do! Help

ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! I am really starting to LOVE your blog too and will be featuring you again tomorrow at my Penny Pinching Party.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this make over! Where did you find the pattern for the cushions? I have one that I need to recover but the seat cushion is completely history.
ReplyDeletePattern??? What's that? I seriously don't know how to use a pattern, I actually just put the fabric over the existing fabric and hand stitched it to the cushion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments everyone!!
It definitely looks so much better, newer, love the paint job too
ReplyDeleteI have a fun month long give-a-way starting tonight
